PRESENTING THE BRIDE AND GROOM
Kharpert, Historic Armenia, Ottoman Empire, 1892
The bride, from cosmopolitan Constantinople, wears a European styled gown and veil, and the "queen" decoration at her hairline under the veil. The groom, to the left of the bride, wears the "king" decoration on his fez (brimless hat). The gunkahayr (godfather) stands to the right of the bride.
